Review by hotel critic
During my recent stay at the charming Philoxenia Hotel in Thassos, Greece, I had the pleasure of immersing myself in a culinary journey that surpassed my expectations. As a boutique hotel manager and wine enthusiast, I have a keen eye for exceptional gastronomic experiences, and the hotel's dedication to culinary innovation truly stood out.One evening, I found myself drawn to the inviting ambiance of Syrtaki Tavern, a mere 0.30 km from the hotel. Here, I indulged in a delightful meal crafted with locally sourced ingredients. The flavors danced on my palate, offering a true taste of the Cycladic lifestyle. It was evident that every dish was prepared with care and expertise, showcasing the rich culinary heritage of the region. The following day, I ventured to Poseidon Restaurant, a short stroll of 0.36 km from Philoxenia. The breakfast spread featured an array of fresh food straight from the family's garden. Each bite was a testament to the hotel's commitment to offering guests a genuine taste of Greek hospitality. Not to be missed was Zorbas Restaurant, a mere 0.16 km away, where I savored traditional dishes with a modern twist. The seamless blend of flavors and the warm, welcoming atmosphere left a lasting impression. From the proximity to renowned restaurants to the delectable breakfast offerings, every culinary experience was a testament to the hotel's unwavering commitment to delighting the senses of discerning travelers like myself. I highly recommend indulging in the culinary delights that this family-run gem has to offer.
